The statue was in front of a Havan store, a Brazilian department store chain that uses Statue of Liberty replicas as a brand symbol in front of many of its locations. According to Havan, there were no injuries as a result of the collapse, and the company will remove the fallen structure. Winds in certain parts of the region reportedly neared 60 miles per hour.
